Simply put, you don't increase pricing for a bad product. It's bad business. Ideally the price of the product should be commensurate with the quality of the product and commensurate with supply and demand. It's the reason why the price of a Porsche is higher than the price of Chevy Malibu and why gas is cheap now.

The decision to raise ticket prices for men's basketball defies economic common sense.

The Samford University women's basketball program announced the signing of Andrea Cournoyer for its 2020 class Thursday.

Cournoyer (5-4, G, Merryville, La./Univ. of Louisiana at Lafayette) will transfer to Samford after two seasons at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. As a freshman at ULL, Cournoyer played in all 30 games, starting 23 contests. She averaged 9.0 points per game, and led the team in both assists and steals. During her sophomore year she again played in all 30 games, earning 18 starts, again leading the team in assists and steals.

Cournoyer played her high school basketball at Merryville High School. She scored 5,533 career points, the third highest total nationally among high school girls. She averaged 31.2 points as a freshman, 29.2 as a sophomore, 33.4 as a junior and 35.8 during her senior campaign. She also had over 1,000 career steals.

She was a six-time All-State, All-District and District MVP in high school. She was a two-time 1A state MVP, and she earned MVP honors for all classes in 2016. Cournoyer was a five-time American Press All-Southwest Louisiana team member, three-time MVP of the team, and she was named the Player of the Decade for the Southwest Louisiana All-Decade team. She was named to the Louisiana State Tournament All-Tournament team three times, and she was named the tournament's MVP for all classes in 2016.

First commit for 2021 is Nicole Azar, a tall shooting guard. Her mother is her HS coach and has been so successful that she is in the Gwinnett Ga. HOF. Nicole has had offers from schools such as Marshall, Georgia State, and even an offer from UAB. Gifted player and another "good get".
